The Principle Of Replacement Dreaming

I haven't had them often myself, but occasionally I will have a dream where I am placed into the role of another person. I am then allowed to see the events that will take place from their perspective and not just my own. I have see it happen numerous times with others whom the Lord regularly uses to receive dreams. They will dream they are a certain person, but there will be intimate details in the dream that can only apply to another individual, one they don't even know but whom the Lord is revealing things about. It allows the Holy Spirit to give you a perspective on what that person will be thinking and feeling if a certain situation plays out, because the dreamer will experience their thoughts and feelings. It allows you to see what their spiritual, mental and emotional state will be, and take consideration and action accordingly.
In the dream where it happened to me, the real me was actually in the dream, only I was viewing the dream from the perspective of someone else, someone I was called to teach and disciple.
The College Professor Dream
When the dream began I was walking down the halls of a college building, looking for my classroom. I opened the door to one class, but sensed immediately that it was not the one I was supposed to be attending. There was a fairly large group of students but class had not started yet. I kept moving, searching through the halls, and eventually walked into a smaller classroom and there was just one man sitting behind a desk. Behind him, there was teaching material everywhere; stacks of books and video equipment piled up all over the place, like what you would expect of a college professor with a lot of research "behind" him.
I entered the room and asked him, "Is this the classroom I'm supposed to be in?" He answered yes, but that class had not started yet, so I had time if I wanted to go do anything first. Then I looked over, and I noticed there was a mail package on his deck that had "my" name on it (don't recall the actual name, I just knew it was mine). I asked, "Is that my book?" referring to the text book that was in the package, and he said, "Yes." I wasn't sure if other students would be coming or not, but I saw only one package on the desk, and became slightly intimidated if this teacher was going to be expending all his energy and focus on me alone. So I went out into the parking lot, and was just blowing a little time when the dream ended (I believe I was fixing a flat tire or working on an automobile of some sort until class started).
There were elements I won't go into here, and there was another dream that immediately accompanied it, but I I quickly discerned after waking up that I was the professor in the dream, and that the "student" I had been placed into the role of was the person He was going to have me disciple. It helped me understand the personal nature of what this person would feel, so that I understood they might need a little time to prepare for what would be intensive, one-on-one training and discipleship.
When I first began interpreting, I would never have believed such a thing were possible. I was strict in my rules on interpretation, and believed that if a person was having a dream then the dream would be about them, not someone they had been placed into the role of. But I learned otherwise. In the last 6-8 months alone, I've had brothers send me dreams that contained numerous intimate details about another person's life that made it obvious He was placing them into the role of another individual, even someone of the opposite sex on occasion. And these dreams were coming from men who regularly received accurately from the Lord, so I knew the principle must be true: Sometimes the Lord will simply give us dreams that place us into the role of another person so that we can see coming events from their perspective and not just our own, so we understand what they will be going through.
I know that those unfamiliar with these things might say, "No way. When I have dreams, they are always about me." But this is a somewhat more advanced stage of interpretation. Most people DO actually only dream about themselves, but things can change when it comes to regularly being used in dream ministry. I have seen it happen too many times now and experienced it myself to believe anything else. Part of the resistance to the idea may be that it makes matters more complicated on the interpreter's end, as it requires a greater gift of discernment to know exactly who a dreamer has been placed into the role of. But the use of this principle opens up an entirely new avenue in what the Lord can reveal to you, because it now allows you to know what the other person is thinking and feeling with regard to a particular situation he or she may soon be encountering. And it makes ministry more effective, because you can help calm their fears, and encourage them that the Lord knows where they are, and that the Spirit has already revealed to you that they will be up to the task.
