Mistrusting The Gate, Only To Be Devoured
Note: This is a sequel to "The Disappointment If Water Never Flows," which I will provide a link to at the bottom of the page. This series tells the sad story of what happened when a Christian community missed an opportunity in the Spirit. A door opened to them, but as a community they didn't trust it, and so chose not to walk through it, only when they did the enemy came in behind them. What followed was horrific, and not only in this dream but in real life as well.
The Locust Attack Dream
I was watching what looked like a type of video game, and there were all these white figures standing before a gate on a mountain (they were kinda like soldiers, but more like just characters. I didn't see armor, which is probably significant). They were standing at this gate waiting for it to open, but there was an opposing army that approached, more numerous, darker green color, and looked like locusts. The gate opened, and instead of the army in white going through the gate, they suddenly decided to go south (ie towards the bottom of the screen) along a ridge that they thought was an escape route, only it wasn't an escape route, it was a dead end, and the locusts quickly followed behind them and began covering over them and completely devouring them. I heard groans like it was still a game, but the "army" in white suffered a terrible defeat and was destroyed because they didn't go through the gate.
In the dream, when the gate opened I had the distinct impression I was the one who had opened it. Yet when I saw them suddenly decide to go south instead I was horrified, like when you are playing a video game and your army suddenly collectively decides to do something you didn't intend, which you know is going to get them killed.
The meaning of the dream was this: Just as in Joel Chapter 2, the locusts were a depiction of demonic spirits who would come to steal away spiritual food, in this case from the members of that community. It would have come through dreams and visions in particular, which are depicted in Joel 2 as the means by which the Lord intends to restore true spiritual food to His people during the end-times. As Joel 2:25-26 reads:
I will repay you with My great army (or "power" in the Greek) which I sent among you, for the years the locusts have eaten—the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm. 26 You will have plenty to eat until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God who has worked wonders for you.
Originally blessed by the power of God during New Testament times, this passage prophesies that the same power will return in the end-times, and visions and dreams that once opened up great revelation to His people will be restored once again. As a result, they will rejoice and praise God for the return of great spiritual food which the caterpillars and locust swarms had once eaten away.
In this case, however, the exact opposite took place. I had tried to make these things possible. As stated in the initial thread, when I first joined that forum I began facilitating a lot of discussion on dream and vision interpretation, and even staff was positively involved for a time. It stretched to 60 pages long with multiple people sharing dreams the Spirit had given them. I thought I had found the forum of my dreams, and one that possessed great potential.
Over time, however, Charismatics in that community began falling away, and were replaced by heretics who incited almost continual doctrinal debate. One member in particular began posting about how modern dream interpretation was "New Age" and should be rejected outright, and although I rebuked him sternly for this, the die was already cast at that point. For whatever reasons, the forum didn't trust it, and so collectively decided NOT go through the gate that opened unto them, and the results were horrific. In the Spirit, what might have been an army in white was overcome by an army of demons who incited strife, division, hatred, and false teaching. And like locusts in real life, they had no regard for who would end up starving spiritually. They were simply there to attack and devour what the Lord was hoping to provide His people.
A friend who was not a part of that particular community sent me another dream which described the overall effect of what transpired. There were even angels involved in that work initially, angels who were rejoicing along with the people of God in what He was doing. But after the work of the enemy was completed, the praises fell to silence:
The Silencing Of Praise Dream
In my dream, a whole town started singing praise to God; a whole town that wasn't near me, but I could hear them. We sang "Our God is an awesome God." When the voices from the town were singing, angels were flying in the sky. I was trying to record the activity in the sky. But the town stopped singing and the angels stopped flying, and I don't know why everyone stopped singing.
The meaning was the same. At first that community was singing "Our God is an awesome God" in sharing how He had spoken to them supernaturally through dreams and visions. The testimonies were leading to praises over Him moving in their lives. But they stopped believing, stopped sharing, and stopped rejoicing. I eventually had to request that that thread on dreams and interpretation be locked, because there was a Gnostic who had joined and was threatening to begin posting on dreams. I knew what was coming, and although I tried to fend him off, he later made it through under a different alias. When he did he immediately began posting on lucid dreaming, which is the demonic equivalent to Spirit-led dreaming; an occult practice of simply using dream control. I go into in more detail on this elsewhere, and I will include a link to it at the bottom of the page, but the end result was that the gate officially closed and the consequences were tragic.
There are still a few instruments on that forum who can be used of God to make a difference for Him in the matter of visions and dreams - one in particular - and we are hoping the Lord sends that person to us soon.
